The Gallery utilises structurally sound, load bearing walls on the sides of the sandwiched building to create a vast open space in the centre. This along with the use of columns that run on an axis enables the whole floor plate structure to be stable on it's own, and so enables the notion of having a very dynamic, flexible interior. As all the inner walls are flexible partitioning systems, which is very benificial in a gallery setting as it easily allows the gallery to accomodate for different sculptural exhibitions.

The choice of medium for the renderings further helps enhance the notion of lightness and suspension which is exhibited in the sculptural installations

The large spacious open area on the ground level functions as an interior sculpture garden. From examining other precedent studies of art galleries such as the Art Gallery of NSW and other public buildings such as Louis Kahns Exeter Library we can see that they all embrace the notions from the historic Plato's Garden. This garden experience is carried on into the interior extrance of my sculptural gallery to further enhance Plato's notion of relaxation and helps facillitate the transistion between the outside street into the tranquility of the Sculptural Gallery.
